What if the full Ransom Total is never reached? My money will be lost!
Remember, there is also a time limit (the Expiration date), so the software will always become free software someday. You pay to help this happen earlier. No matter if the Work is freed by reaching the Total or by the Expiration arriving, you did help the Holder pay their bills and possibly fund their next project.
