LDAP Directory
Details of of the LDAP Directory used to manage member accounts.
Theoretic uses an LDAP Directory to store all member accounts and other site information. Members never have to interact with this LDAP Directory directly at any time, but if you are very familiar with LDAP and want to try viewing and changing your member account information directly, you can use the following information:
Connect to host theoretic.com on port 389 using the TLS (not SSL) security protocol. You will need to use your account's DN, which is userID=<Insert UserID Here>,unit=members, unit=domain.
If you are familiar with LDAP, you may be wondering at the non-standard DN format used. This is because Theoretic uses its own customized LDAP Schema. Theo decided to do this just simply to force himself to learn the gritty details of LDAP and because he loves to push the limits of various softwares. Details of the customized LDAP Schema will be linked to from here in the near future.
